Windflow UK installed the 101st Windflow 33-500 turbine at the Easter Aberchalder Estate, its most challenging site to date.

Windflow UK have installed the 101st Windflow 33-500 turbine at the Easter Aberchalder Estate, to the south west of Inverness, its most challenging site to date. The turbine is located at the end of 3.6 km of private estate tracks. Because of the turbine’s compact size and weight this only required modest upgrades to the road. After improvement this still had inclines of up to 20% and a weak bridge with only 3.0 m internal width. Innovative directional drilling methods were used to cross under streams, in order to cost effectively lay the 2 km new connection. In addition to the supply and installation of the turbine, Windflow UK managed much of the design and construction of the balance of plant for estate owner Alex Catto.
